Day 7 - 15th of April - Pearl Harbor and Luau

Aloha!!
After a great day hiking Diamond Head, it was time for some history in one the most important places of Hawaii. Guess what? We went to Pearl Harbor. For those who do not know what that is, I will give a quick explanation. It as a memorial for the man who died in the surprise Japanese attack that lead America to enter WWII. It was a great experience to be in that place and pay the respect to those who gave their lives to protect the others. Even though they are not from our country, respect is the least you can give to a person who died for freedom. Heroes. In the afternoon, some more surfing in paradise; this time by ourselves. Although it was really hard, surfing is in its best in Hawaii, it was just great. At night, a Luau to end the trip in great style. It was just awesome. They had really fun games and some of our crew members(Otto and David) joined one of the shows. We got to learn how to do the “ULA” and throw spears at a target. Also, the dances, the drinks, the guy that played with fire. it was just WOW. But tomorrow it is time to leave, leave paradise, can you imagine? We had such a great time and it was awesome. Thank you Terra North America!!

More Pcitures of the Trip

Day 6 - 13th of April - Diamond Head

It's already our sixth day of the trip (the time is flying!) but we were still full of energy to hike the famous Diamond Head, the volcanic cone of Honolulu.
It was a really fun day, with a little bit of rain, to stay fresh, and we had the great opportunity to observe a fantastic view of all the island, the ocean and a magic rainbow.
When we came back to the hotel, around 12, we had free time to go to the beach, relax a little bit or take the third surf lesson.
At the end of the night all the group met together for a pizza and for making the plans for tomorrow.

Day 5 - 12th of April - Ala Moana Mall, Bubba Gump and Talent Show

We woke around 8 and we all had breakfast in the lobby, then most of the students went to the pool and exchange some pins while others were hanging out in their room. Around 10 about 3/4th of the students went surfing while the others hang out at the beach. Then the students had to have lunch on their own. Then we all went to the shrimp restaurant and had a talent show which was pretty short, and after dinner we had free time to go shopping and then we went back to the hotel.

Day 4 - 11th of April - North Shore Tour and Polynesian Cultural Center

Today was The Bus Day for our group and Giulia's birthday, who just turned 17 years old. We met each others at 7:30 am in the lobby to go to Denny's. We had a really good breakfast (without coffee...) after which we walked less than 3 feet and stopped at an ABC Store (the only one in Hawaii!!!). Most of us were out of sunscreen or needed after sun burns lotion because we actually all look like tomatoes.
We met our bus driver a few blocks away and begun the tour in a yellow bus. The driver was really crazy and super funny. He still taught us a lot about those wonderful islands. We traveled during an hour before the first stop, where we bought some souvenirs and took a punch of pictures. We stopped a second time in another bigger store, where some of us were more interesting by the fruits than anything else. A few guys bought one big pineapple and carry it all day long, they actually treated it as their baby (exchange students are weird sometimes). Others learned how to say their names in Hawaiian.
However we finally left without losing Bob! Our comic driver showed us a little village where we all found a place to have lunch. For sure some people walked all around the place to find a McDonald's and others just ate seafoods! We moved from this village direction a beach, where we again took pictures (with or without pineapple), had fun together and got wet because of the big waves.
The last stop before coming back at the hotel was the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) where we learned a lot about the different islands and their cultures. We saw some guys climbing trees to get coconuts (Totally crazy.) and we played some music with bamboo's sticks. We were totally in our world over there around all these foreign people! We had dinner at that place too, pretty good food. We left around 7:30 pm after that everyone got their REAL tattoos (just kidding all were fake.).
We drove home with another driver who made up a lot of jokes. Laughs were all around the bus and nobody were actually sleeping like we were dreaming of all day long. For Giulia's birthday we were allowed to go to the beach at night where we spend a good time together. Some of us stayed in the lobby that night too and the lazy ones went to bed earlier. The one in the lobby had a Hawaiian Ukulele concert which was a great time! That Friday was pretty tiring but really fun, everyone hope that Giulia had a nice birthday!

However it was really exhausting day, everybody love it! A lot of things happened.
After the breakfast we started exploring the island more!

During the trip to Hanauma Bay we enjoyed the breathtaking view of Hawaii and several beautiful fishes and turtles. After that we back to the hotel and we devided into 2 groups, the first group went at 2 o'clock for the surfing lessons and then the second group went at 3 o'clock, it was so much fun and we had 3 instructors that gave us special equipment like shoes and surf jerseys, which made us look pretty cool and most of us were able to stand on the board, then we had free time and we went for dinner at Teddy's Burguers and then to the hotel. What a happy day! :)

Day 2 - 9th of April - Orientation, Catamaran Ride and Picnic

Aloha everyone! Today was our second day in Hawaii! Everybody is really excited and enjoying the trip.
On the morning we had breakfast and during it an orientation about the trip, where we also were able to know each other a little more. After, we went to the beach for the first time, it is amazing - it really is the paradise. We saw a lot of dolphins during the catamaran tour, and a gigantic turtle when we were coming back. We had a lot of free time and so much fun playing by the beach. Our dinner was a nice picnic, by the beach, during the sunset. Back to the hotel, some of us were hanging out at the pool and others rested for a while. Around 8:30 we went to explore the neighborhood around the hotel, and shop. Now, the students are having a nice night of sleep so we can go for new activities tomorrow, as

snorkeling and surfing lessons. See you later!
